The Black Helix - An Unwritten Story

Background

In September 2010 we had an application accepted to help fund the largest Alternate Reality Game every to come out of Northern Ireland and so in November the same year we got cracking and ‘The Black Helix’ was the result of a lot of passion and hard work.

On the 25th of February the transmedia based game launched and ran for four weeks culminating in a live streamed role playing finale on 26th March.

Throughout the four weeks players engaged in online challenges, were sent packages and researching documents, hacked websites, played Facebook games, took part in a geo-cache (QR Code Treasure Hunt) event, viewed live streaming and more…

What was unique about this game was that the players would not only change how the story would unfold over the four weeks but their alias names, research and subplots would all be pulled together in what we still believe will be the first short novel of its kind.

Currently we are in talks with a number of publishers and hope to see the book finally come to life.
